Mitie migrates from iPG/400 to SunriseHS ERP to centralise its back office
After joining the Mitie Group, the UK leader in Facilities Management, the company needed a modern ERP capable of centralising the management of 6 companies and more than 8 joint ventures (UTEs), with the reporting required of a group listed on the London Stock Exchange. In 2024 it chose SunriseHS ERP over alternatives such as SAP, SAGE and Microsoft.

The challenge
Following the acquisition of Interserve Spain by Mitie in 2020, the leader of the UK Facilities Management market, the company faced a major transformation and growth challenge. Joining an international group listed on the London Stock Exchange brought new corporate reporting requirements, greater demands on financial and operational control, and the need to manage exponential growth in service lines as well as in the number of companies and volume of activity.
Although iPG/400 had for years been a reference solution for IBM i/AS400 customers in Power environments, it had become obsolete. Mitie needed a more modern, flexible platform, ready to respond to the new demands of the business, capable of leveraging its infrastructure and guaranteeing future growth.
To that end, Mitie opened a selection process involving different vendors and solutions on the market, among them SAP, SAGE and Microsoft. After evaluating the alternatives, SunriseHS ERP was the solution chosen for its functional capability, flexibility, scalability and adaptability to the company's technological and operational environment.
The SunriseHS solution
- Integration and centralised management of 6 companies and more than 8 joint ventures (UTEs) within a single ERP environment, unifying processes and financial and operational information under strict security controls.
- Adaptation to the specific requirements of the Facilities Services sector: large volumes of contracts and multi-company operations, private clients and public entities, and different invoicing models, terms and contract reviews.
- Integration with the eFace platform for issuing and managing electronic invoices addressed to Public Administrations.
- Automation and control of purchasing processes and orders to suppliers.
- Centralisation of financial, operational and documentary information, improving traceability, control and real-time analysis capability.
- Strengthened financial and corporate reporting adapted to the international requirements of the Mitie Group and to the demands of a company listed on the London Stock Exchange.
